26x 10×4 tippers for an underground mine in Peru

February 2017, 26 Volvo FMX 10x4 tippers started operating at the Cerro Lindo Project in Peru. The trucks operate at the Cerro Lindo Project, one of the largest under-ground mines of South America, lying South of Lima, in the middle of the Andes Mountains, at an altitude of over two kilometers.

Mainly zinc, but also copper and silver are extracted from this mine. The mine is operated by Nexa Resources, Dinet (www.dinet.com.pe) is the contractor. They are responsible for hauling the ore from the mine to the local processing plant.

DEMO TRUCK

Summer 2016, we have deployed a demo truck on site for three months, which has won the test with two competing suppliers based on uptime, payload and maneuverability. December 2016, all 26 vehicles arrived in the port of Lima and last month a local tipper company, called Frameca, mounted 26 front cylinder tippers onto the chassis.
